GotPermits.com - Getting Started with your Online Oversize-Overweight Wide Load Routes and Permits


The Agencies identified on www.GotPermits.com have authorized Bentley Systems, Inc. to provide this limited-access site (the GotPermits.com permit “Portal”) that offers Oversize/Overweight vehicle permits for sale to qualified applicants to travel on the highways and roads of the identified States, as well as other travel-related information.

In order to use the www.GotPermits.com Site, you must first be registered with the site.  Some Agencies may require additional authorization.  You may not proceed if you have not done so.  You may become registered by clicking on this New User Registration link.  With your registration, you will receive an Administrator USER ID and a temporary PASSWORD. This will allow you to begin requesting permits for the agencies we currently support.

Permits may be purchased by draw-down escrow account or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover).  You can establish a draw-down, Escrow Account with Bentley Systems, Inc. Your current balance will be available to you through the Portal site. The Portal process will not allow application or other steps leading to purchase of a permit to take place if the Account does not have a balance adequate to cover the minimum permit fee of the Agency.

    Alabama Department of Transportation
            (The fees posted below may change from time to time. Please refer to the detailed state-specific requirements.)

            A1-Equipment OS Only - Up to 12' W, 75' L - $10, all others - $20
            A1-House - $20
            A2-Equipment OW Only - Up to 100,000 pounds - $10, Up to 125,000 pounds - $30, Up to 150,000 pounds - $60, all others - $100
            A2-Sealed Container - Up to 150,000 pounds - $60, all others - $100
            A3-Equipment OS/OW - Up to 100,000 pounds - $20, Up to 125,000 pounds - $40, Up to 150,000 pounds - $70, all others - $110
            B1-Mobile Homes - Up to 12' W, 75' L - $10, all others - $20
            C1-Modular Homes / Boats - Up to 12' W, 75' L - $10, all others - $20

    Nebraska Department of Roads

            Code 23 permits - Registration fee paid annually to MVC.  No base fees or excess weight/dimensional fees applied.  Only a transaction fee of $12 plus the service charge of 5% of total permit fee = $12.60/permit
            Single Trip Overweight permit - $10 Base Fee + any excess weight fees + $12 Transaction Fee + 5% Service charge
            Single Trip Over-dimensional permit - $10 Base Fee + any excess dimensional fees + $12 Transaction Fee + 5% Service charge
            Single Trip Over-dimensional & Overweight permit - $20 Base Fee + any excess weight and dimensional fees + $12 Transaction Fee + 5% Service charge

                    Single Trip Permit Excess weight fees (as defined in Title 39:3-84):
                       $5.00 per ton (or fraction thereof) over 80,000 pounds GVW.
                       $5.00 per ton (or fraction thereof) over the following legal axle weights:
                            22,400 lbs. on a single axle
                            34,000 lbs. on a tandem axle
                            NOTE: 5% leeway is given on axle weights.

                    Single Trip Permit Excess dimensional fees (as defined in Title 39:3-84):
                      $1.00 per foot (or fraction thereof) in excess of 14 feet in width
                      $1.00 per foot (or fraction thereof) in excess of various lengths:
                            Trips with a House related load -- Overall Length - 70 feet
                            Trips with a Non-House related load -- Overall Length - 63 feet

            Rear Forklift - Single Trip - $25
            Move to Scales Single Trip Permit - $25
            Over 80K on Interstate Single Trip Permit - $25

            Baled Livestock Feed - Single Trip - $25
            Farm Implement - Single Trip - $25
            Manufactured Home - Single Trip - $25
            Electric Utility - Single Trip - $25

    West Virginia Department of Transportation

            Seagoing Blanket - $150
            OS Only Blanket - $200
            OS/OW Blanket - $500
            Mobile Home Blanket - $200
            Single Trip Mobile Home - $20
            Single Trip OS / OW / Superload - $20 plus $.04 per ton-mile
            SASHTO - $20 plus $.04 per ton-mile

            Return trips can be added to Single Trip OS / OW / Superload and
            SASHTO permits for an additional $20 plus applicable ton-mile charges.      

     This site cannot authorize exemption from West Virginia State permit fee. If West Virginia fees are to be exempt, the request can be started via GotPermits.com but must be forwarded to the State and issued by the State.

Current GotPermits.com Convenience Fee Charge Schedule

For the convenience of use, and the benefits of direct purchasing of OS/OW permits through this site, the following charge will be added to the Agency's permit fee. This fee will be applied to all carriers and permit services, even if the carrier is exempt from Agency permit fees.

    $6 for each permit, plus 3% processing/handling fee
